Sorakan (sorakan.com.au) is an independent Australian business. It is not connected to other organisations with a similar name.

Why Sorakan exists

Payroll tells you who you employ. It does not tell you what they can do.

Most growing businesses run their people on a payroll system, a pile of spreadsheets and the owner's memory. You can see who is employed and what they are paid, but not where your real capability sits, which gaps put delivery at risk, whose ticket expires next month, or who is ready for the next role.

Sorakan was built to answer those questions. It gives a business one current picture of what its people can actually do, and turns that picture into decisions: who can cover, who to develop, and when to hire.

What capability intelligence means

Capability intelligence is a single, current view of what an organisation's people can actually do: their skills, proficiency, qualifications and readiness for other roles. It is different from an HR system, which records who is employed and what they are paid.

In Sorakan that view is made of five connected parts:

  • A living skills matrix that rates every person against every skill on a 1 to 5 scale.
  • Roles and position descriptions that define the skills, responsibilities and qualifications each role requires, so gaps are measured against something real.
  • Qualifications and compliance, with certificate expiry alerts and an organisation-wide roll-up for audits and clients.
  • A talent grid and succession planning, where the nine-box is plotted from capability evidence instead of opinion.
  • Soraku, an AI assistant that answers plain-English questions using only your own organisation's data.

How we build

Evidence before opinion

Talent decisions should start from what the data shows, with managers in control to adjust and sign off. The platform surfaces the evidence. People make the call.

AI proposes, people decide

Soraku only draws on records its user is allowed to see, and no AI feature changes a record until a person accepts it.

Security in the database

Access rules are enforced by row-level security in the database itself, not by hiding buttons. Read how on the Access & Security page.

Australian first

Australian English, AUD pricing, and qualifications mapped to the Australian catalogue, for workplaces that must evidence their tickets and certificates.

Live in an afternoon

Import your people, define a few roles and the matrix comes to life. There is no long implementation project.
